Performances in Mumbai, India
A collaboration with Namita Bodaji
Early 2011
We have received an amazing offer from our good friend Namita Bodaji, who has invited us to be part of an exciting cultural exchange. MillerDance will travel to Mumbai, India to perform in January or February of 2011, and Namita and her company will perform in Pittsburgh in June 2011. The collaborative work will focus on the three rivers just outside of Mumbai and those here in Pittsburgh. Namita and Mary feel that with two countries, two cities and six rivers, there is much to explore about the confluences at each of their cities and to represent through dance two cultural viewpoints of the power of rivers.

July 2009: City Dance/Traveling Dance

About

Throughout July 2009, Miller Dance presented City Dance/Traveling Dance on the sidewalks of downtown Pittsburgh. The work, performed by five dancers and two musicians, was designed to remove the barriers separating life and art by bringing modern dance into the everyday routine of a busy downtown sidewalk.

The piece was performed five times during the month.
